I love Oblivion. I thought Diablo II was okay but overrated. Will I like Dragon Age Origins?

I've been hearing great things about DAO. I was considering picking it up, since no one around me has it available for rent, but I need some honest opinions.

What I love about Oblivion is the free landscape, go anywhere anytime, do anything type of gameplay. The leveling is cool, and the fighting and storyline is decent as well, but I like the way that Oblivion gives you a huge world to explore with so many different options, quests, things to do, and the freedom to tackle quests in any order and however I want to play them.

What I liked about Daiblo II was the idea of randomness- random world map, random equipment properties, stuff like that. What I didn't like was the overhead perspective and repetitive nature. I had fun, but I was in no way addicted like everyone swore I'd be. After a few hours, I was thinking "My inventory is full. I have to turn around and go back to town to sell all my stuff AGAIN?"

Okay, to the point: I see why Diablo was fun, but to me the overhead perspective and general repetitive nature of hack, slash, go to town to sell my belongings, repeat, wasn't all that addicting. So seeing what I DID like about an RPG like Oblivion, and what I DIDN'T like about an RPG like Diablo II, can anyone here tell me how Dragon Age Origins compares to each game? Like how its strengths and weaknesses measure up?

I know DAO is an overhead game, and I know there is dungeon crawling. But is there more to it than that? I guess I just need to hear some reviews that don't just keep saying "It's this year's Diablo / Baldur's Gate / Oblivion". *PS: I never played Baldur's Gate.*

Thanks for any info. Strengths, weaknesses, I would like to hear it all.I love Oblivion. I thought Diablo II was okay but overrated. Will I like Dragon Age Origins?
When was the last time u felt totally lost in a fantasy gameworld? When was the last time u played a game with such a well-crafted and enjoyable story that you knew u'd remember it for a long, long time? Dragon Age: Origins is that kind of game.

Incredible storytelling, great characters, and exciting battles are just a few of the things that make this fantasy role-playing game so extraordinary.

The Good:

Intricate, involving storytelling. Amazing dialogue and voice acting bring characters to life. Rich fantasy world filled with interesting lore. Enjoyable questing with plenty of twists and surprises. Lots of spells and abilities make combat fun.

The Bad:

A few glitches.

i played all 3 games (IMHO) the bst is DAO , then Oblivion and last is Diablo II, most of the sites rated Diablo as the best RPG they gave it a score between 9.5-10/10 ,where they gave Oblivion between 9-9.5/10, and DAO between 9.5-10/10.

DAO is really good and i recommend it, and if u really into RPG Baldur's Gate 1%26amp;2 ,neverwinter nights 1%26amp;2 , icewind dale 1%26amp;2 r must .

hope that helps :)

P.S. totally agree with u Diablo II is overrated.I love Oblivion. I thought Diablo II was okay but overrated. Will I like Dragon Age Origins?
I have it myself, and I personally like it alot. However, the replay value will leave you wanting more. Its your average RPG, and it has some nice twists. The storyline is really well thought out, and I would recommend it to anyone who is a serious RPG'er.I love Oblivion. I thought Diablo II was okay but overrated. Will I like Dragon Age Origins?
If you like Oblivion then yes.
